Rare opportunity for the ambitious competitor to
purchase outstanding 2006 FL Crane Trophy winning mare.
Bred by
Margot Maitland in South Australia from some of her best
bloodlines and started under saddle by Shelly Penny of
Victoria, Balledor purchased Wish from Willowcroft Stud
for a junior rider in late 2003 and successfully
campaigned her in NSW for three years.
Her
wonderful 2006 victory at Sydney Royal was followed by a
spell in the broodmare paddock, producing for us an
exquiste filly by Pendley Gold Cup and in 2008, a
spectacular colt by Oakvale Serenade. These progeny are
available for inspection but are to be retained by the
stud.
Wish now
returns to work and will be campaigned in NSW showring
from Spring 2009.
After much soul searching and heartache, we have decided
to offer our wonderful mare Wish for sale. In 2007 we
seized the opportunity to purchase Willowcroft Regal
Celebrity because he was so closely related to her, and
his recent performance record in pony dressage and
ridden breed classes speaks for itself. However as a
very small boutique stud, we now find ourselves in the
situation that neither Wish nor her progeny can ever be
covered by our stallion and so it is with considerable
reluctance that the search has begun for a suitable
experienced and capable home for her.
Balledor
Encore
Encore is a stunning mahogany
bay
gelding with
black points foaled
28 Nov 2005 and registered with
RPSBSA and AHSA. Expected to mature big galloway, he is
by Pendley Gold Cup (imp) out of thoroughbred mare, Spirit of
Balledor, who carries Current Winner bloodlines.
His temperament
and manners are unimpeachable but it is the engagement of his
hocks that results in his spectacular movement and makes this
pony truly breathtaking.
Prior to his gelding, he had an
impressive debut to the show ring as a led Arabian Riding
Pony Yearling Colt during a short season in which he was
awarded Reserve Champion Colt or Stallion by Alan Peston at
Castle Hill Spring Show, first in his class at Cooranbong
Youngstock by Val Males and Champion Led Arabian Riding Pony
at French's Forest Ag Show.
Since being started undersaddle by Phil Rodey just after his
third birthday, Encore has been spelled and is now coming
into work in preparation for Newcomer Galloway classes in
2010.
About his sire...
His sire,
Pendley Gold Cup,
was imported to Australia from UK by LJS Riding Ponies in 1999. His
grandsire, Camargue Tribute was resident sire at Mrs Jennifer
Williams' Pendley Stud (UK). Tribute is the sire of numerous winning
ponies in the U.K, notably Hampton Prince of Thieves 14.2hh Pony of
the Year and Champion at the Royal International Horse
Show.
Pendley Gold Cup also has a very successful mare line, his dam being
Pendley Loving Cup, overall Champion Broodmare at The National Pony
Show (UK), and Supreme In hand exhibit at East of England. She is
the dam of many top ponies including Pendley Design, exported to USA
and
Pendley Gold Cup.
Pendley Loving Cup is a full sister to one of England's most
successful brood mares of all time in Pendley Birthday Girl (dec.)
