April opens with the campaign to qualify Balledor Debut for the 2010 Royals , but this doesn't prove to be very difficult as he wins his open class at every show he attends, gaining 8 performances from the same number of shows and is also awarded the reserve champion’s sash at 5 of them!  A very impressive start for a young newcomer!

At Sydney Royal on 20 April, in muddy conditions and just two years almost to the day since we purchased him, Regal again strode out onto the main arena and was the first choice of judge Gary Robson from the ring. He worked beautifully but unfortunately was worked the wrong way in the workout by his rider and was eliminated. We were devastated with this disappointing result, through no fault of Regal's, and the horse that placed second to him at Canberra went on to win the class and best ridden pony stallion.
